Girls Who Listen is a female-founded non-profit dedicated to supporting and shaping the next generation of female creatives and executives in the music and entertainment industries through mentorship, education, and community.

FUTURE LEADERS IN MUSIC FELLOWSHIP

The GWL Fellowship is an extraordinary opportunity for emerging music industry professionals looking to gain real-world experience, mentorship, and exclusive industry access. Designed for college seniors and recent graduates, this immersive program goes beyond traditional mentorship—it provides hands-on learning, professional development, and a supportive community to help fellows build a strong foundation in the music business.

Fellows will engage in one-on-one mentorship, curated training sessions, and a collaborative industry project, all while gaining direct exposure to top industry professionals.

PROGRAM DETAILS

The GWL Fellowship is a 3-month program open to applicants within the U.S., with an emphasis on major music hubs such as NYC, LA, Nashville, and ATL. The program will officially run from May 12, 2025 to August 12, 2025. If you are not located in a major music hub, we will provide financial support to assist with program-related expenses.

  • One-on-One Mentorship – Get paired with an experienced music industry professional in your area of interest.
  • Career Development Training –  Participate in curated HR workshops, including mock interviews, business etiquette sessions, and resume reviews tailored to music industry roles.
  • Networking & Community – Build lasting connections with other fellows through dedicated group chats, meetups, and coffee chats with mentors.
  • Exclusive Industry Access –  Receive potential tickets to music industry events and gain first-hand exposure to the business.
  • Fellowship Perks – Enjoy goodie bags, exclusive GWL merch, and in-person meetups in various cities.

  • Attend check-in meetings with the Girls Who Listen team.
  • Participate in all scheduled workshops, mentor meetings, and program activities.
  • Complete the industry project and present your findings at the end of the program.
  • Engage actively in the fellowship community (group chats, meetups, and discussions).
  • Must have a strong interest in the music business and plan to pursue a career as an industry professional. This program is not intended for producers songwriters, engineers,  artists, or similar paths).
  • Must have had at least one internship in the music or entertainment industry 
  • Open to college seniors in their final semester/year and recent graduates (Class of 2023 or later).
  • Must be able to commit to the full duration of the fellowship.
  • Submit Online Application – Include personal details, resume, and cover letter.
  • Panel Interview – Selected applicants will be invited for a group interview.
  • Final Selection – Fellows will be chosen based on their passion, career goals, and readiness for the program.

Participation in the Future Leaders in Music Fellowship requires a one-time membership due of $90. This contribution helps cover program resources, exclusive workshop opportunities, and community-building experiences. Our goal is to provide fellows with meaningful mentorship, hands-on industry exposure, and valuable networking opportunities.

  • International Applicants – Currently, the fellowship is not open to international applicants. However, we hope to expand our opportunities and include international applicants in the future.
